Advocacy

CGS in the Southern Mediterranean are heterogeneous in their regulatory
frameworks and operating models but they share the common goal of extending
access to finance to credit constrained MSMEs. Access to finance is a
multidimensional problem to which CGS partially respond, but their impact in
the region can be significantly amplified through the adoption of targeted
measures and policies addressing issues such as the financial sectors’
skills in dealing with MSMEs; prudential regulation; financial
infrastructure; capital markets development; financial literacy, among many
others.Building on the outcomes of training seminars and RD working
groups, EMGN’s advocacy activities will be closely linked to the network’s
dissemination strategy.

The Euro-Mediterranean Guarantee Network (EMGN) is promoted by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMED) and with the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
